“I was the easy one”

You:

  • didn’t cause problems
  • handled things yourself
  • adapted quickly

And got praised for it.

What that teaches you

  • your needs come second
  • being “low maintenance” = being valued
  • emotions should be managed privately

How it shows up now

  • difficulty setting boundaries
  • overextending
  • feeling responsible for others

Strategy shift

Instead of:
👉 “What do they need?”

Pause and ask:
👉 “What do I need right now?”

This isn’t about becoming selfish.

It’s about becoming balanced.
